Παράλληλα με το σεμινάριο των Arny και Amy Mindell γίνεται στην Τεχνόπολις και η έκθεση ‘Bodies’. Πολλά έχουν γραφτεί για αυτήν την έκθεση. Μια ομάδα συμμετεχόντων στο σεμινάριο ετοίμασε την παρακάτω επιστολή διαμαρτυρίας που υπέγραψαν συμμετέχοντες στο σεμινάριο που συμφώνησαν με το κείμενο.

“Disclaimer: -This exhibit displays human remains of Chinese citizens or residents which were originally received by the Chinese Bureau of Police. The Chinese Bureau of Police may receive bodies from Chinese prisons. Premier cannot independently verify that the human remains you are viewing are not those of persons who were incarcerated in Chinese prisons.
-This exhibit displays full body cadavers as well as human body parts, organs, fetuses and embryos that come from cadavers of Chinese citizens or residents. With respect to the human parts, organs, fetuses and embryos you are viewing, Premier relies solely on the representations of its Chinese partners and cannot independently verify that they do not belong to persons executed while incarcerated in Chinese prisons.

ΠΡΟΣ ΤΟΥΣ ΔΙΟΡΓΑΝΩΤΕΣ
Εν καιρώ πολέμου, η δυνατότητα να θάψει κανείς τους νεκρούς του με τις τιμές που τους αρμόζουν, είναι λόγος εκεχειρίας, ενώ κάθε άλλη δραστηριότητα ισοδυναμεί με ιεροσυλία. Εν καιρώ ειρήνης όμως, η έκθεση νεκρών φαίνεται να ισοδυναμεί με άλλη μία –ανάμεσα στις πολλές- ευκαιρία για κέρδος. Έτσι λοιπόν, οι κάτωθι υπογεγραμμένοι/ες θέλουμε να εκφράσουμε τη διαμαρτυρία μας για την οργάνωση και προβολή της έκθεσης “BODIES” στο Γκάζι.
Καθώς παραβρεθήκαμε στο χώρο της Τεχνόπολις στο Γκάζι -συμμετέχοντας στο διεθνές σεμινάριο “The Magic and Reality of Process Oriented Psychology”- δεν μπορούσαμε παρά να προσέξουμε την ύπαρξη μιας έκθεσης που χρησιμοποιεί συνειδητά ανθρώπινα σώματα άγνωστης ή αμφιλεγόμενης προέλευσης.
Η παρουσίαση αυτή, στο όνομα της επιστήμης, νομιμοποιεί την απόκτηση γνώσεων (;) με κάθε μέσο και αποσκοπεί αποκλειστικά στον εντυπωσιασμό. Παράλληλα, ‘καταφέρνει’ μια σειρά από κατορθώματα: απαξιώνει κάθε έννοια σεβασμού προς τους νεκρούς, απαξιώνει τόσο τους φτωχούς (συνήθως αυτοί κινδυνεύουν περισσότερο να μείνουν στα ‘αζήτητα’ των νεκροτομείων), όσο και τους ανθρώπους που για χίλιους διαφορετικούς λόγους ‘περισσεύουν’ εντός των διαφορετικών συστημάτων, όπως οι φυλακισμένοι ή οι πολιτικοί κρατούμενοι.
Τέλος απαξιώνει την ίδια τη ζωή αποξενώνοντάς την από το θάνατο – και όσο περίεργο κι αν ακούγεται, αυτή η απεικόνιση του θανάτου απαξιώνει και τον ίδιο το θάνατο. Προηγούμενες έντονες κριτικές και διαμαρτυρίες σχετικά με την έκθεση έχουν διατυπωθεί όχι μόνο στην Ελλλάδα, αλλά και σε όλες τις χώρες όπου η έκθεση αυτή προβλήθηκε.
Θεωρούμε ότι η επιλογή παρουσίασης αυτή της έκθεσης έρχεται ηθικά, κοινωνικά και πολιτικά σε σύγκρουση με τις αξίες του σεβασμού της ανθρώπινης ζωής και αυτοδιάθεσης και θέλουμε να καταγραφεί η αντίθεσή μας προς αυτήν. Και φυσικά το ερώτημα παραμένει: πως θα σταθείτε απέναντι στους νεκρούς;
Πως θα στεκόσασταν απέναντι στους δικούς σας νεκρούς;
TO THE ORGANIZERS
In times of war, taking care of the dead, honouring them, is a reason for a ceasefire and any other activity is seen as committing sacrilege. In times of peace, exhibiting the dead is yet another business opportunity. Therefore, we, the undersigned, would like to express our indignation against the organization and presentation of the exhibit “BODIES” in the cultural-educational space “TECHNOPOLIS-GAZI”.
As participants in the seminar “The Magic and Reality of Process Oriented Psychology”, we couldn’t help noticing an exhibit using human bodies and organs of questionable origin, for so called cultural and commercial purposes, as the disclaimer provided by the organizers themselves proves.
This particular exhibition claims to promote learning (?), seeks to legalize itself in the name of science, while the goals are sensation and profit. What it mainly achieves is a series of ‘accomplishments’: it fails to show respect for the dead, it shows disdain for the poor (they are those who usually run the danger of ending up unwanted in mortuaries within public hospitals), as well as anyone who seems unfit or even dangerous for the system, like political prisoners and prisoners in general.
Finally, it shows disdain for life itself, as it is depicted as a process cut off the process of death – and as weird as it may sound, this particular approach of death shows disdain for death too. The bodies, which belong to political prisoners or people who have suffered in the organ trade in China, represent an assault on the universal principles of respect for human life and self-determination. Public outcry has been expressed in all of the countries where the exhibit has been shown.
We would like to join these voices and register our protest to this insult.
And of course, the question remains: how will you treat the dead? How would you treat your dead?
