Deep experiences with members of the community of Trabajo de Procesos with Gill Emslie in our workshop in Barcelona, The World, My Body and I: Interconnections. Our aim was to build more sustainable relationships with ourselves, each other, the world and our planet. We shared the processwork paradigm’s tools and frameworks to unfold information in our bodies and altered states so we don’t just get caught up in our reactions, as we are faced with difficult situations in our relationships and the world. We practiced together differentiating our internal experiences, unfolding our body experiences, noticing getting triggered and working with our triggered reactions to regain our fluidity, linking the different parts of our internal experiences to the different roles in the field we are a part of. We worked on developing our capacity for a meta-perspective and using it to facilitate ourselves in the difficult situations, and intervene in them from a feeling attitude of caring for the whole.
Again and again, I’m amazed at the deep wisdom so readily accessible and available for us if we just go all the way into our experiences.. we come out into a different state of consciousness, one in which we naturally embrace and are there for the whole… one in which we have a meta-perspective through which we recognize with a great clarity the value of what in our everyday perspective we experience as our enemy.. one from which we can intervene in our everyday reality in a way that serves the whole.
Strong experiences in the group process processing terrorism, seeing the dynamic appear between us – how we marginalized voices we could not hear, how that made them want to kill themselves and take us with them, how we became bombs in our interactions with one another, the almost extreme state created by the pain of the child who gets hurt without being able to defend itself, the hopelessness around doing something to change outer world scenes, and the edge to go deeply into it, give up, let go, gain access to the perspective that state brings… the edge to identify with our power…
We learned so much together these days… helped one another unfold difficult altered states, personal histories, go into difficult spots with one another and come out more deeply connected… Deep appreciation and love. Our time together has filled me with hope for our world in these difficult times.
