ONE BRUSH, ONE STROKE:
The Simplicity of Process Oriented Psychology
Arny and Amy Mindell
21-23 April 2007
London, UK

1 brush, 1 stroke emphasizes both elementary and advanced cognitive and artistic aspects of process oriented psychology and its connection to spiritual traditions.

We shall define, study and play with what we shall call, our “processmind”, an ancient and new idea that lies at the root of the skills, metaskills and community making methods of process oriented psychology. Processmind is a force field that organizes all of our spontaneous experiences, a subtle feeling ability and simultaneously a cognitive skill that creates the experience of flow through inner, relationship and teamwork/business issues.

In Zen, aspects of the process mind appear as Kensho or Satori. Shamans might call your process mind, your “personal power”. By studying fields, we shall find this “mind” in psychology, physics and the land around you; that is in the spirit of “place”. Finding your process mind may show not only your central feeling or “metaskill” ability, but also a possible, central life task. It is as much art as science, childlike wonder as cognitive understanding, trickster as serious elder.

In these three days, we refer briefly to quantum ideas, and will use perennial Asian concepts to turn rigid frozen states and stark realities into a potentially enjoyable dance. How? With one mind, one brush, and one stroke going in many different directions. J

When we apply the creativity of your process mind to innerwork, relationships and organizations, new inner and outer work methods appear, including a sense of your “signature field”, Krishnamurti’s “choice-less awareness”, and process oriented “mindfulness” meditation in relationships and teamwork-business. Process Mind’s 1 Brush, 1 Stroke, may be like the idea of “Buddha Nature”, namely, everyone’s basic essence.

There will be time for theory, demonstrations in the center, inner and outer work on the following themes:
1. Innerwork; Your Signature Field, Your “Home” –and “house keeping”.
2. Process Oriented Mindfulness meditation in Relationships. The space we live in.
3. A Glimpse of “Enlightenment” in Teamwork.
